Ingredients
Split Urad Dal (Raw)
1 small cup (100g)
Chopped Onion
0.5 medium cup (80g)
Chopped Green Chilli
4 tsp (8g)
Fresh Coriander Leaves (chopped)
2 tbsp (10g)
Coriander Powder
1.5 tsp (3g)
Garam Masala
1 tsp (3g)
Red chilli Powder
0.25 tsp (1.25g)
Common salt
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Olive Oil
1 tbsp (15g)
Instructions
Cooking Steps
Wash and soak urad dal for 3-4 hours or overnight.
Drain the water and rinse the dal.
In a pressure cooker, add the urad dal along with 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is cooked and soft.
Once the dal has cooled down, transfer it to a mixing bowl and mash it well with a spoon or your hands.
Add chopped onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to form a dough-like consistency.
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a kebab.
Heat oil in a pan for frying.
Fry the kebabs in hot oil until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Remove the kebabs from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Serve the kebabs hot.
