Preparation
Rinse the brown rice thoroughly in water and soak it for 20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Cooking Steps
Add oil In a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
Add the chopped tomatoes and sauté until they become soft and mushy.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well.
Add the soaked brown rice and mix well with the tomato mixture.
Add water and stir well.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
Once the rice is cooked, fluff it up with a fork.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
