Preparation
In a mixing bowl, take whole wheat flour.
Gradually add water to the dry ingredients while kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. The dough should be soft and not too sticky. If the dough is too dry, add more water. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour.
Cover the dough and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes.
Cooking Steps
Heat a tawa (flat griddle) on medium-high heat.
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
Take a ball of dough and dust it with some flour.
Using a rolling pin, roll the dough ball into a round circle of approximately 6-7 inches in diameter.
Place the roti on the hot tawa and cook for about 30 seconds or until bubbles start to form on the surface.
Flip the roti and cook the other side for about 30 seconds or until brown spots appear.
Remove the roti from the tawa and place it in a covered container to keep it soft.
Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
