Cooking Steps
Step 1: To make dry urad dal recipe, first wash the urad dal thoroughly with water
Step 2: Soak the lentils in water for 4 to 5 hours
Step 3: After 4 to 5 hours, drain the water and keep the lentils separately
Step 4: Now pour some water in a pressure cooker
Step 5: Add steamer pan and add dal to it
Step 6: Turn off the cooker and cook till 3 cities come
Step 7: Turn off the gas and let the pressure drain
Step 8: Open the cooker and keep the lentils separately
Step 9: Now heat ghee in a pan
Step 10: Add cumin seeds, asafoetida and cook until the cumin seeds crackle
Step 11: After the cumin seeds crackle, add onion, ginger, green chili and cook till the onion becomes soft
Step 12: Now add cooked urad dal, turmeric powder, salt, garam masala powder, coriander powder and mix well
Step 13: Cover the pan and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes
Step 14: Now add lemon juice to it and mix
Step 15: Garnish with green coriander and serve
Step 16: Serve the dry urad dal recipe with Gujarati kadhi, phulka and amaras for dinner
