Preparation
Semolina Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, curd, salt, and black pepper powder.
- Add water gradually to make a smooth, thick batter. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the semolina to absorb the moisture.
-Mix shredded cheese into the rested semolina batter.
Cooking Steps
After resting, check the consistency of the batter; it should be thick but pourable. Add a little water if needed.
Add baking soda to the batter and mix gently.
Grease the cavities of the appe maker with a small amount of oil using a brush or tissue. Heat it over medium flame.
Pour a spoonful of batter into each cavity of the appe maker. Cover with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.
Once the bottom is golden brown, flip the balls using a skewer or spoon and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
Remove the cooked balls from the appe maker and serve hot.
