Cooking Steps
Step 1: To make Semiya Upma, first heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan
Step 2: Add mustard seeds and let it cook for 10 seconds
Step 3: Now put urad dal in it and cook for 20 seconds
Step 4: Now add onion, ginger, curry leaves and cook till the onion becomes soft
Step 5: After the onion softens, add vegetables and cook till the vegetables are soft
Step 6: After the vegetables are soft add semia and the remaining sari ingredients
Step 7: Add 1 cup of water, mix and cover the pan
Step 8: Allow it to cook for 10 minutes
Step 9: After 10 minutes, open the pan, mix and cook it with a little more water if raw
Step 10: Turn off the gas, add lemon, green coriander and ghee and mix once the semia has softened
Step 11: Serve hot
Step 12: Serve the Semiya Upma with coconut chutney and filter coffee for breakfast
