Instructions
Cooking Steps
Drain the sabut moong dal and rinse it with fresh water.
In a pressure cooker, heat oil over medium heat.
Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn translucent.
Add chopped tomatoes and green chili. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Add the sabut moong dal, turmeric powder, Red chilli powder, salt, and 1 1/2 cups water. Stir well.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles over medium heat.
Once the pressure is released, open the lid and stir the dal. If it is too thick, add some more water and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
