Instructions
Cooking Steps
Heat oil in a large pan or kadai over medium heat.
Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida (hing). Stir for a few seconds.
Reduce the heat to low and add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add the puffed rice (murmura) to the pan and toss everything together, ensuring the puffed rice is evenly coated with the spices.
Roast the mixture for 3-4 minutes on low heat, stirring continuously to avoid burning.
Turn off the heat and allow it to cool completely.
