Instructions
Cooking Steps
Rinse the rice and moong dal together in water and soak them for 30 minutes.
In a pressure cooker, heat oil over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
Add chopped tomato, carrot, green peas, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well.
Add soaked rice and moong dal to the pressure cooker and mix with vegetables.
Add 2 cups of water and mix well.
Cover the pressure cooker with a lid and cook for 2-3 whistles over medium heat.
Once the pressure cooker cools down, remove the lid and mix the khichadi well.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
