Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making the Red Lentil Curry Without Coconut recipe, soak the lentils in water for about 20 minutes
Step 2: Boil them using 3 to 4 cups water until soft in a saucepan
Step 3: Cover the pan with a lid while cooking
Step 4: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a saucepan and fry the sliced onions on medium heat until slightly browned
Step 5: Add tomatoes and mix
Step 6: Cover and cook till tomatoes are soft and mushy
Step 7: Stir in between
Step 8: Let the mixture cool down, then grind it to smooth paste along with ginger and garlic
Step 9: Use very little water while grinding
Step 10: Pour the prepared paste over cooked lentils and add little water
Step 11: Add green chilies and let it boil on medium heat for 5 minutes
Step 12: Add all the spices and mix
Step 13: Add salt and sprinkle crushed Kasuri methi
Step 14: Mix and let it simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes
Step 15: Remove from heat and serve hot
