Ingredients
Ragi flour
1 small cup (120g)
Ginger Paste
1 tsp (5g)
Chopped Green Chilli
2 tsp (4g)
Turmeric powder
0.25 tsp (1.25g)
lemon juice
1 tbsp (15g)
Common salt
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Olive Oil
1 tsp (5g)
Mustard seeds
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Curry Leaves
5 gm (5g)
Asafoetida
0.25 tsp (1.25g)
Eno fruit Salt
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Skimmed milk Curd (Homemade)
0.25 cup (50g)
Instructions
Cooking Steps
In a mixing bowl, add the ragi flour, curd, ginger paste, green chili, turmeric powder, eno fruit salt, lemon juice, and salt. Add water gradually and mix until you get a smooth and thick batter.
Add baking soda in little water. Mix well
Grease a dhokla plate or a steaming dish with oil.
Pour the batter into the greased dish and steam for 15-20 minutes until the dhokla is cooked and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the dhokla to cool down for a few minutes. Cut into square or diamond-shaped pieces.
For the tempering, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
Pour the tempering over the dhokla pieces and serve hot.
