Quinoa Khichadi

Quinoa
50 gms (50g)
Cumin seeds
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Mustard seeds
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Turmeric powder
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Asafoetida
1 pinch (1g)
Common salt
0.25 tsp (1.25g)
Yellow Moong Dal (Raw)
0.5 small cup (50g)
Olive Oil
1 tsp (5g)
Plain Water
2 large glass (500g)
Red chilli Powder
0.25 tsp (1.25g)
Chopped Onion
0.5 small cup (50g)
Chopped Tomato
1 small cup (100g)
Instructions
Cooking Steps
Rinse and soak quinoa and moong dal for 30 minutes separately.
Heat oil, add cumin, asafetida and mustard seeds, allow them to splutter.
Add chopped onion, cook until transparent.
Add chopped tomato and cook until mushy.
Add turmeric and red chilli powder. Saute.
Add soaked quinoa, moong dal, and salt. Mix.
Add water, pressure cook for 2-3 whistles or simmer until cooked.
Let pressure release naturally.
Serve hot.
