Cooking Steps
Step 1: To prepare Matar Aur Chilke Ka Sabzi (Peas & Peel Stir Fry Recipe), Wash the green pea pods
Step 2: Take out the peas from the pods in a bowl and keep aside
Step 3: Take half of the peels of peas
Step 4: (discard the rest)
Step 5: Break the tip and the bottom of each pod peel and discard the long fibrous membrane in them
Step 6: Chop each pea pod in the middle, to bite size
Step 7: Chop the white part of spring onion lengthwise and the green part into 1-2 inch pieces
Step 8: Heat the oil in a kadai and add panch phoron
Step 9: When the seeds begin to splutter add chopped white part of the spring onion
Step 10: Stir fry a bit
Step 11: Then add chopped peels of green pea pods, spring onion greens and half of the green peas extracted from the pods
Step 12: Stir again
Step 13: Add in turmeric powder, chopped green chilies and salt
Step 14: Cook covered on low-medium heat till vegetables are just tender
Step 15: Remove from heat and serve Matar Aur Chilke Ka Sabzi (Peas & Peel Stir Fry Recipe) hot as a side-dish with paratha or phulkas
