Ingredients
Rice, raw, milled
1 small bowl (100g)
Split Urad Dal (Raw)
0.5 small cup (50g)
Chopped Onion
0.25 small cup (25g)
Chopped Green Chilli
2 tsp (5g)
Common salt
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Olive Oil
1 tsp (5g)
Instructions
Preparation
Rinse the rice and urad dal in water separately and soak them in water for 4-5 hours.
Grind the urad dal and rice separately in a blender to a smooth batter consistency. Mix both the batter and add salt. Let it ferment overnight or for 8-10 hours.
Cooking Steps
Heat a non-stick pan or tawa over medium heat. Pour a ladle full of batter onto the tawa and spread it in a circular motion to make a thin uttapam.
Sprinkle some chopped onion and green chilies on top of the uttapam.
Drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges of the uttapam and cook until the bottom turns golden brown.
Flip the uttapam and cook the other side until it turns golden brown.
Serve hot.
