Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making Nut Filled Chocolate Pastry Recipe, preheat your oven at 200 C
Step 2: prepare a baking sheet lined with a parchment paper
Step 3: Flatten the puff pastry sheet using a rolling pin and give it a rectangular shape
Step 4: Now place the chocolate bar in the middle of the puff pastry
Step 5: Sprinkle the crushed cashew nuts on top of the chocolate bar
Step 6: Next, make cuts in the pastry sheet using a knife or kitchen scissor for braiding
Step 7: Pull in alternative free ends of the pastry sheet that is cut slantly
Step 8: Once the braiding is done, then carefully place the braided pastry of baking tray lined with parchment paper
Step 9: Now take egg + 1 teaspoon water in a small bowl and whisk it using a fork
Step 10: Apply this egg wash on the top of the pastry using a silicon brush
Step 11: You can also use milk instead of the egg if you are a vegetarian
Step 12: Bake the pastry for 20 minutes or until it turns golden in colour
Step 13: Dust some powdered sugar on the pastry and serve the warm pastry with a hot cup of tea
Step 14: Optional: Once the pastry is baked, you can stick some cashew nuts on top of it and bake it again for 5 more minutes before cooling it down to room temperature
