Nashpati nu Paste
Nashpati nu Paste, or Pear Puree, is a simple, wholesome, and nutrient-rich baby food. In Gujrat, introducing fruits like pears to infants is a common practice, as the region is known for its love for fresh and seasonal fruits. Preparation
Wash the pear thoroughly under running water to remove dirt and pesticides.
Peel the skin, remove the core, and chop the pear into small chunks for easier cooking.
Cooking Steps
Place the pear chunks in a small saucepan with 2 tbsp of water. Cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes until the pear becomes soft and mushy.
Allow the cooked pear to cool for a few minutes.
Transfer the softened pear to a blender or use a hand blender to blend it into a smooth puree. Alternatively, you can mash it using a fork or a baby food masher.
If the puree is too thick, add a small amount of breast milk, formula, or cooled boiled water to achieve the desired consistency.
Feed it.
