Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making the Muttai Kuzhambu recipe, boil eggs in enough water in a saucepan and once cooled, remove the outer shell
Step 2: Boiling of eggs will take 12 to 15 minutes
Step 3: Cut the eggs lengthwise into two halves and keep aside
Step 4: Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan
Step 5: Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds
Step 6: Once it splutters, add chopped onion and saute well until translucent
Step 7: Once the onions become soft, add garlic and saute for a minute
Step 8: Now, add chopped tomatoes and saute until it turns soft and mushy
Step 9: Add coriander powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and required salt to it
Step 10: Mix everything well and saute for a minute
Step 11: Add required water for the gravy and cook for few minutes until oil separates
Step 12: Once the gravy becomes little thick, add the eggs and cook for 2-3 minutes
Step 13: Do not boil for long time and do not stir often
Step 14: Once it is done, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot
Step 15: Serve Muttai Kuzhambu along with Appam, Steamed Rice or Lachha Paratha
Step 16: You can also serve Kachumber Salad along with the meal
