Cooking Steps
Step 1: To prepare Mughlai Style Chicken Haleem Recipe, dry roast all the spices mentioned under masala list
Step 2: Grind it into fine powder
Step 3: Keep aside
Step 4: Soak chana dal, broken wheat, rice separately
Step 5: In a saucepot add oil
Step 6: Add sliced onions, ginger garlic paste, green chilies sauté until onions turn brown
Step 7: Remove from stove and keep aside
Step 8: Add 3 cups water into the same pan
Step 9: Add chicken pieces, salt and red chili powder
Step 10: Cover and bring it to rolling boil
Step 11: Once chicken changes color, add the soaked dal, broken wheat and rice
Step 12: Cover and cook
Step 13: Once the chicken is cooked, remove the bay leaf
Step 14: Start mashing the chicken and dal once chicken gets cooked
Step 15: Continue mashing and cooking until all the chicken is fully mashed along with dal
Step 16: Keep adding a little water as and when required
Step 17: Now add the sauteed onion-ginger garlic-green chilies mix along with roasted spices
Step 18: Add salt to taste and continue to cook and mash
Step 19: Once the haleem turns thick and all ingredients are well mashed, add ghee and mix again
Step 20: Transfer the Mughlai Style Chicken Haleem Recipe to serving bowl, garnish with caramelized onions, fresh coriander leaves and some ghee on top
