Instructions
Cooking Steps
Rinse all lentils in water and soak them in water for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker or pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell goes away.
Add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn translucent.
Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Stir well.
Add the soaked lentils and water. Stir well.
Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles or cook in a pot for 20-25 minutes until the lentils are soft and mushy.
Using an immersion blender, blend the lentils into a smooth soup. Alternatively, blend in a mixer or food processor.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
