Preparation
Boil the green peas until soft. Drain water and mash them lightly.
Cooking Steps
In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Preparing the Filling:
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
Add grated ginger, green chilies, and onions. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until onions are soft.
Add boiled and mashed peas, garam masala, and salt. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Turn off the heat, mix in the chopped coriander leaves, and let the filling cool.
Assembling the Paratha:
Divide the dough into equal portions.
Roll out one portion of the dough into a small circle .
Place a portion of the filling in the center. Bring the edges together to seal the filling inside.
Gently roll out the stuffed dough into a paratha (approx. 6-7 inches in diameter), ensuring the filling doesn’t spill out.
Cooking the Paratha:
Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat. Place the rolled-out paratha on the hot tawa.
Cook for 1-2 minutes, then flip. Apply a few drops of oil on both sides and cook until golden brown spots appear.
Repeat the process for the remaining dough and filling.
Serve hot.
