Preparation
.Blanch the Tomatoes:
- Boil the tomatoes for 1–2 minutes, then transfer them to cold water.
- Peel the skin, remove the seeds, and finely chop or puree them.
Toast the sesame seeds lightly in a dry pan over medium heat until golden and aromatic.
Cooking Steps
Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Stir in the pureed tomatoes.
Add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper.
Pour in the water and mix well.
Stir in the red chili sauce, soy sauce, and honey. Mix thoroughly to combine all the flavors.
Add the toasted sesame seeds and stir them into the sauce.
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld together.
Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
