Step 1: To begin making the Kolhapuri Akkha Masoor Dal Recipe, lets roast the sesame seeds and dessicated coconut on a hot pan

Step 7: Add chopped onions and saute till they turn translucent
Step 8: Later add chopped tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes turn mushy
Step 9: Sprinkle salt and the other spice powders and cook until the raw smell goes away
Step 10: Add ground sesame and coconut powder and saute them as well
Step 11: Add cooked masoor dal and add 1 cup of water
Step 12: Check for salt and leave it to boil in simmer
