Preparation
Wash kachhi (raw) haldi and ginger thoroughly to remove dirt.
Remove the seeds from the amla and cut into smaller pieces for easier crushing.
Cooking Steps
Step 1: Make the Paste
- In a mortar-pestle or small mixer, pound/crush raw haldi, ginger, black pepper, and amla together.
- Make a coarse paste (not smooth), as coarse paste extracts the nutrients better.
Step 2: Prepare the Water
- Heat 250 ml of water in a pan and bring it to a boil.
- Reduce the flame to simmer and add the paste.
- Let it simmer for 3–4 minutes only. Avoid over-boiling to preserve the Vitamin C in amla.
Step 3: Strain & Drink
- Strain the water into a cup and drink warm.
