Jowar Veg Mix (Infants)
Jowar Veg Mix is a nutritious and soft dish that combines jowar flour (sorghum, rich in fiber and energy) with vegetables like lauki (hydrating and rich in vitamins) or carrot (a great source of beta-carotene). It is cooked until smooth and mashed thoroughly for easy consumption.

Ingredients
Jowar Flour
2 tbsp (30g)
Bottle gourd, elongate, pale green
20 gms (20g)
Carrot, red
30 gms (30g)
Plain Water
1 small cup (200g)
Ghee
1 tsp (5g)

Preparation
- Peel the lauki & carrot, chop them into small pieces, and boil until very soft. Mash thoroughly to make it lump-free.
Cooking Steps
In a saucepan, add 2 tbsp jowar flour and 200ml water. Stir continuously to avoid lumps.
Cook the mixture over medium flame for 3-4 minutes until the jowar flour starts to thicken and becomes smooth.
Add the boiled and mashed lauki & carrot to the saucepan. Mix well to combine the ingredients evenly.
Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture becomes smooth and reaches a baby-friendly consistency.
Turn off the heat and add 1 tsp ghee. Mix well to enhance flavor and texture.
Let the dish cool slightly before serving to the infant. Ensure it is warm and not hot to suit the baby's needs.
