Preparation
-Remove tomato seeds
Cooking Steps
Rinse the jowar grains in water and soak them for 2-3 hours.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker or a deep pot over medium heat.
Add chopped onions and chopped garlic. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
Add chopped carrots, celery, and tomatoes. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
Add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add soaked jowar grains and 3-4 cups of water.
If using a pressure cooker, cook for 3-4 whistles or until the jowar is cooked. If using a pot, cook for 30-40 minutes or until the jowar is soft and tender.
Once done, remove from heat and let the pressure release naturally.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
