Jowar Flour
0.5 small cup (50g)
Skimmed Milk
0.5 small cup (100g)
Plain Water
1 small cup (200g)
cardamom powder
1 tsp (2g)
Apple
0.25 cup, diced (50g)
Chopped Walnuts
1 tbsp (10g)
Instructions
Preparation
-Dry roast the jowar flour in a pan over low heat for 3-4 minutes until aromatic. This prevents lumping during cooking.
Cooking Steps
In a bowl, mix the roasted jowar flour with a small amount of water to form a lump-free paste. Set aside.
In a saucepan, bring the rest of the water to a boil over medium heat.
Slowly add the jowar paste to the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Pour in milk and stir well. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
Add cardamom powder.
Transfer the porridge to a bowl and top with chopped nuts and fresh fruits for added texture and nutrition. Serve warm.
