Basmati Rice
1 small cup (100g)
Plain Water
1 medium cup (250g)
Olive Oil
1 tbsp (15g)
Cumin seeds
1 tbsp (15g)
Common Salt
0.5 tsp (3g)
Fresh Coriander Leaves (chopped)
1 tbsp (5g)
Instructions
Cooking Steps
Rinse the basmati rice in running water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
Drain the water and keep the rice aside.
In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add the soaked and drained rice to the pan and stir well.
Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste. Bring the water to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and let the rice cook for 15-20 minutes until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
Remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
