Instructions
Cooking Steps
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, molasses, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and peanut butter until smooth.
Add minced garlic, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to the mixture and stir well to combine.
Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature.
Transfer the Hoisin sauce to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
