Cooking Steps
Step 1: To prepare these Healthy Oatmeal Energy Bar With Dates & Nuts Recipe, chop the assorted nuts first
Step 2: Process dates in a food processor until coarsely done
Step 3: It should form a “dough” like consistency and will roll into a ball
Step 4: Dry roast or toast the rolled oats in a non-stick pan for a few minutes until its color has changed to light brown
Step 5: Take care not to burn the oats
Step 6: Place the oats, chopped nuts, and dates in a bowl and set aside
Step 7: In a small pan, warm honey and peanut butter over low heat
Step 8: Stir and pour over the oats mixture and then mix, breaking up the dates till well combined
Step 9: Once thoroughly mixed, transfer to a dish/ pan lined with aluminum foil/ parchment paper so they lift out easily
Step 10: Press down until uniformly flattened
Step 11: Cover with aluminum foil/ parchment paper or plastic wrap, and let it set in the refrigerator or freezer for 25 to 30 minutes to harden
