Preparation
For Chutney
In a blender, combine coriander leaves, mint leaves, green
chili, ginger, cumin powder, chaat masala, salt and 1 tbsp water.
Blend until you get a smooth paste.
For Batter:
Soaking- Wash and soak yellow moong dal for 2–3 hours in water.
Cooking Steps
Prepare Cheela Batter:
- Drain and grind soaked moong dal into a smooth batter using minimal water.
- Add turmeric and salt to the batter. Mix well.
- Ensure the batter is pourable yet slightly thick for spreading.
Grill Cheela Sheets:
- Preheat the electric grill.
- Lightly brush the grill surface with 2–3 drops of oil.
- Pour the batter and spread into a square shape (to match sandwich size).
- Grill until crisp and golden on both sides (approximately 2–3 minutes per side).
- Remove from grill and repeat the process to prepare 2 cheela sheets.
Assemble the Sandwich:
- Place the first grilled cheela sheet on a plate.
- Spread t tsp green chutney evenly across the surface.
- Layer sliced cucumber, and tomato.
- Place the second grilled cheela sheet on top.
Serving:
- Serve warm and crisp immediately after preparation.
