Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making Goan Bimbla Uddamethi Recipe, wash Bimbla 3-4 times
Step 2: Cut them into very small cubes
Step 3: In a heavy bottomed pan, bring a cup of water to a boil and add the chopped Bimbla
Step 4: Let the bimbla sit in the boiling water until they soften
Step 5: Meanwhile, grind grated coconut along with red chili powder and turmeric powder using a spoon of water
Step 6: Add the coconut paste in the boiled bimbla
Step 7: Add jaggery to the pan as well
Step 8: Add some water just to thin it out and allow this mixture to boil
Step 9: While curry is boiling, prepare the tempering
Step 10: In a pan heat oil on medium heat
Step 11: Add Fenugreek seeds, Urad dal, mustard seeds and Curry leaves
Step 12: Cover and let the seeds crackle on low heat
Step 13: Once the mustard seeds have crackled, add asafoetida and remove from heat
Step 14: Pour this tempering over the boiling curry
Step 15: Add salt as per your taste
Step 16: Stir the mixture until everything combines
