Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin, the Dhaba Style Green Moong Dal Tadka Recipe, soak the green moong dal in 3 cups of water for at least for an hour
Step 2: Into the pressure cooker, add in the ghee
Step 3: Once the ghee is hot; add the ginger, tomatoes and green chillies and saute for a few seconds
Step 4: After a few seconds, add the soaked green moong dal, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala and water
Step 5: Cover the pressure cooker with its weight on
Step 6: Cook the dal in the pressure cooker, until you here 3 to 4 whistles
Step 7: Simmer the heat to low and continue to cook for another 10 minutes
Step 8: After 10 minutes, turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally
Step 9: Open the pressure cooker and stir in the chopped coriander leaves and the juice from one lemon
Step 10: To make the Tadka for the Dhaba Style Green Moong Dal Tadka Heat the ghee in a small kadai, add in the cumin seeds and add the red chillies and allow it to crackle
Step 11: Once its crackles and the red chilli is well roasted, turn off the heat
Step 12: Add this tadka to the cooked green moong dal
Step 13: Give it a good stir
Step 14: Check the salt and spice levels and adjust to suit your taste and serve the dal hot
