Cooking Steps
Step 1: To make dhaba style dal fry, first boil all the lentils
Step 2: Pour the lentils into the pressure cooker and add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder and salt to it
Step 3: Cook the pulses till 3 o'clock
Step 4: Once the pressure comes out, open the cooker and mix the lentils
Step 5: Keep it separately
Step 6: Heat oil in a pan
Step 7: Add asafetida, cumin seeds and mustard and let it cook for 10 seconds
Step 8: After 10 seconds, add curry leaves, big cardamom, cardamom, star anise, long and salted green chillies
Step 9: Allow to cook for 30 seconds and then add green chili and ginger garlic paste
Step 10: Let it cook for 1 minute
Step 11: After 1 minute, add onions and cook until brown
Step 12: Once brown, add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt
Step 13: Add some water and cook for 5 to 8 minutes
Step 14: After the masala cooks well, add the cooked lentils to it
Step 15: Allow to cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turn off the gas and garnish with green coriander
Step 16: Serve Dhaba Style Dal Fry with Sew Tomato Vegetable and Phulka for dinner
