Ingredients
Raw White Rice
0.25 cup (50g)
Yellow Moong Dal (Raw)
0.25 small cup (25g)
Bottle gourd, elongate, pale green
100 gms (100g)
Ghee
1 tsp (5g)
Plain Water
1 medium cup (250g)
Instructions
Preparation
Wash moong dal and rice thoroughly under running water.
Peel the lauki and cut it into small, baby-friendly pieces (around 1 cm size).
Soak yellow moong dal and rice together for 15 minutes to soften and reduce cooking time.
Cooking Steps
In a pressure cooker, add the soaked moong dal, rice, and chopped lauki.
Pour water and close the lid.
Cook on medium flame for 3-4 whistles. Ensure it is cooked until very soft.
Allow the pressure to release naturally. Open the lid and mash the cooked ingredients thoroughly using a spoon or a masher until it reaches a smooth, lump-free consistency.
Add 1 tsp of ghee and mix well.
Let it cool slightly before serving. Ensure it is warm and not hot to suit the infant's needs.
