Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making the Dal Bukhara recipe, pressure cook the black grams with required cups water till done
Step 2: Remove and mash the dal mixture
Step 3: Heat butter in a heavy bottomed pan
Step 4: Splutter cumin and bay leaf
Step 5: Add onions, green chilli, ginger garlic paste and saute till light brown
Step 6: Add tomato puree and salt
Step 7: Mix everything well and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes
Step 8: After 3 to 5 minutes, add all the spice powder including Kasuri methi, red chilli powder, chaat masala, cumin powder, turmeric powder and cook for two minutes
Step 9: After 2 minutes, add the dal mixture, required the amount of water and let it simmer for few minutes
Step 10: Finally, add garam masala powder and cream and cook for 2 to 3 minutes
Step 11: Serve hot
Step 12: Serve Dal Bukhara along with Bharma Baingan and Phulka for a weekday meal
