Ingredients
Raw White Rice
2 tbsp (30g)
Yellow Moong Dal (Raw)
2 tbsp (30g)
Beet root
20 gms (20g)
Ghee
1 tsp (5g)
Plain Water
1 medium cup (250g)
Instructions
Preparation
Wash moong dal and rice thoroughly under running water.
Peel the beetroot and grate it finely using a grater.
Soak moong dal and rice together for 15 minutes to reduce cooking time and soften.
Cooking Steps
In a pressure cooker, add the soaked moong dal, rice, and grated beetroot.
Pour 250ml of water into the cooker and stir well.
Close the lid and cook on medium flame for 3-4 whistles until everything is very soft.
Allow the pressure to release naturally. Open the lid and mash the cooked ingredients thoroughly using a spoon or a masher until smooth and lump-free.
Add 1 tsp of ghee and mix well to enhance flavor and texture.
Let the dish cool slightly before serving to the infant. Ensure it is warm and not hot to suit the baby's needs.
