Cooking Steps
Step 1: To beging making the Coconut Rice Pulao With Coconut Cream Recipe, wash and clean the basmati rice 2-3 times and soak for 30 minutes
Step 2: In the meantime, prepare coconut milk
Step 3: Blend the coconut cream with 2 cups of water in a Mixer/blender till it forms a smooth mixture
Step 4: Keep it aside
Step 5: You may skip this step if using coconut milk
Step 6: Drain the soaked rice and add it to an Electric rice cooker
Step 7: Add the coconut milk into it
Step 8: You can also use a Pressure cooker or Open container to cook the rice
Step 9: In a small pan, add oil or ghee
Step 10: When the oil is hot, add bay leaf, cardamom pods, cloves, black peppercorns, and sauté at low heat till it releases the aroma
Step 11: Add the cumin seeds
Step 12: When the seeds stop to sizzle, add the grated or chopped ginger and sauté for 2 minutes so that the raw smell goes away
Step 13: Now add the chopped carrots and green peas
Step 14: Sauté at medium heat for 3-4 minutes
Step 15: Add the fried carrots and peas mixture into the rice cooker
Step 16: Add water as required for the rice to cook
Step 17: Cover the cooker with the lid and cook until the rice is cooked
Step 18: For tempering, in a small pan, add 2 teaspoons of ghee or oil
Step 19: Saute the cashews and the coconut slices for 2 minutes on low heat
Step 20: Add this tempering to the cooked rice
