Preparation
For making pita bread
-combine the whole wheat flour, salt, and baking powder. Add water as required and knead into a soft dough.
-Wash and cut chicken into stripes.
Cooking Steps
In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken strips, garlic paste, ginger paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and low-fat curd. Mix well and let it marinate for 1-2 hours in the refrigerator.
Preheat a grill pan over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken strips to the pan and cook for 8-10 minutes until they are tender and cooked through.
Divide the dough into equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle of about 6 inches in diameter.
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the rolled-out pita bread on the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on one side.
Flip the pita bread and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side until both sides are golden brown.
To assemble the shawarma, place the grilled chicken strips, mixed vegetables, and low-fat curd on top of the pita bread.
Roll up the pita bread to make a shawarma.
Cut the shawarma in half or into quarters.
Serve immediately.
