Cooking Steps
Step 1: To make chana methi dal recipe, first soak chana dal in 3 cups of water for 30 minutes
Step 2: Now wash and chop the fenugreek with water
Step 3: Heat the oil in a pan
Step 4: Add fenugreek to it and cook till the fenugreek becomes soft
Step 5: After the fenugreek becomes soft, turn off the gas and keep it aside
Step 6: Now heat the oil in a pressure cooker
Step 7: Add asafetida to it and cook it for 10 seconds
Step 8: After 10 seconds, add onions and cook till they become soft
Step 9: After the onion becomes soft, add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt along with tomatoes and let it cook
Step 10: Now add chana dal with water
Step 11: Turn off the cooker and cook till 6 to 8 cities come
Step 12: Let the pressure drain automatically
Step 13: Open the cooker, mash the lentils and add fenugreek to it
Step 14: Mix and take out in a bowl
Step 15: Now for tempering, heat the ghee in a tempering pan
Step 16: Add cumin seeds, dry red chilies and let it cook for 15 seconds
Step 17: Add the tadka to the dal and mix
Step 18: Serve Chana Methi Dal Recipe along with Tomato Onion Cucumber Raita, Tomato Onion Cucumber Raita and Phulka for a day meal
