Cooking Steps
Step 1: To make chana methi dal, first wash and soak the chana dal in 3 cups of water
Step 2: Wash and dry the fenugreek as well
Step 3: Cut the fenugreek after it dries
Step 4: Now heat oil in a pan
Step 5: Add fenugreek to it and cook till they become soft
Step 6: After cooking, keep it aside
Step 7: Now heat oil in a pressure cooker
Step 8: Add asafetida and cumin seeds and let it cook for 10 seconds
Step 9: Now add onions and cook till they become soft
Step 10: After the onion becomes soft, add tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, mix and cook till the tomatoes become soft
Step 11: Now add chana dal to it, mix and close the cooker
Step 12: Cook until 2 to 3 cities come, reduce the flame and let it cook for 5 minutes, turn off the gas after 5 minutes and let the pressure drain
Step 13: Open the cooker, mash the dal a little and add fenugreek to it
Step 14: Mix well and serve hot
Step 15: Serve chana methi dal along with gourd large vegetables and phulka for dinner
