Step 1: To begin making the Cabbage and Carrot Poriyal Recipe, heat a heavy bottomed pan with oil, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds
Step 2: Once it splutters, add urad dal and chana dal
Step 3: Saute until it turns golden
Step 4: Add curry leaves and hing saute for a minute
Step 5: Now add shredded cabbage, sprinkle salt and saute for 10 minutes
Step 6: Add little water, turmeric powder
Step 7: Mix well and cook covered for 5-10 minutes
Step 8: Once the cabbage is cooked, add carrot and mix well
Step 9: Sprinkle pepper, required salt and cook until the carrot is done
Step 10: Once done, switch off the stove and serve the Poriyal hot
