Cooking Steps
Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the preheated oven's broiler until they are lightly golden brown. While the bread is still warm, cut the garlic clove in half and rub the cut side over the surface of each toasted bread slice.
Cut the tomato into small, bite-sized dice. Place the diced tomato in a bowl.
Stack the basil leaves on top of each other, roll them up tightly, and then thinly slice them to create ribbons. Add the chopped basil to the bowl with the diced tomato.
Drizzle the olive oil over the tomato and basil. Season with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper. Gently toss the mixture to combine, making sure the flavors are evenly distributed.
