Instructions
Preparation
Soak & Boil Rajma: -Soak the rajma for overnight in water.
-. Rinse and pressure cook with water and a pinch of salt for 4-5 whistles or until soft. Drain excess water.
Cook Brown Rice:
- Rinse the brown rice thoroughly.
- Boil water with salt, add rice, and cook for 25-30 minutes until tender. Drain excess water.
Cooking Steps
Prepare Rajma Sukka:
- Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies; sauté for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add boiled rajma and stir to coat the beans with the masala. Cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Sprinkle garam masala and crush kasuri methi between your palms before adding it. Mix well.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and turn off the heat.
Assemble Bowl:
- Place a portion of cooked brown rice in a bowl.
- Top it with a generous serving of the rajma sukka.
- Serve it.
