Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making the Black Rice, Barley & Flax Seeds Congee recipe, first lets prepare the congee powder
Step 2: Dry roast in the following order starting with barley, black rice and flax seeds
Step 3: A nice aroma comes after each one of them is roasted
Step 4: Let it cool
Step 5: Grind them into a coarse powder using a mixer grinder and store them in an air tight container
Step 6: The next step is to prepare the congee
Step 7: Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan
Step 8: Add garlic and let it cook for a minute
Step 9: Add spinach and let it cook completely
Step 10: Once the spinach is cooked add water, salt and let it boil completely
Step 11: Add congee powder and rasam powder and stir it until both the powders are mixed nicely
Step 12: Let it cook until the soup is thickened
Step 13: Once it is done, switch off the stove and serve hot
