Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making Beetroot Poriyal or Sabzi for Toddlers, wash and peel the skin off the beetroot
Step 2: Cut them into small pieces and set aside
Step 3: In the beetroot in pressure cooker, add 2 tablespoons water along with a pinch of salt
Step 4: Cook the beetroots for one whistle and release the pressure of the cooker immediately
Step 5: Set aside
Step 6: In a pan add 1/2 a teaspoon of butter and allow it to melt over medium heat
Step 7: Once the butter has melted, add 1/2 a teaspoon of mustard seeds and let it crackleAfter the mustard seeds have crackled, lower the heat and add a pinch of asafoetida
Step 8: Add finely chopped curry leaves into the pan
Step 9: Next add in the cooked beetroots and give it all a good mix
Step 10: Cook on low heat for a couple of minutes and turn off the heat
Step 11: Beetroot Poriyal or Sabzi for Toddlers is ready to be served
