Instructions
Cooking Steps
Heat peanut oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add sliced onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onions turn translucent.
Add chicken thighs and cook for 5-7 minutes until they turn golden brown on all sides.
Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, tamarind paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot.
Note: Traditionally in this recipe kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) used but we replaced it with normal soy sauce due to availability issue, but if it available to you can also opt for that.
