Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making the Apple Enchilada Recipe, peel the skin on apples, and slice then lengthwise
Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a pan
Step 3: Add apple slices and cook for 3 minutes until softened
Step 4: Add sugar and cinnamon powder, mix well
Step 5: Continue to cook for another 4 to 5 minutes
Step 6: Turn off flame and let it cool completely
Step 7: To prepare the brown sauce, mix all the ingredients mentioned in the list (Brown Sugar, Sugar, Butter, Water & a pinch of salt) in a sauce pan
Step 8: Heat the pan and bring it to boil
Step 9: Once it starts boiling, keep whisking and continue to boil
Step 10: In 3 to 4 minutes the sauce will thicken up a bit
Step 11: Remove from flame
Step 12: Lightly warm the tortillas so it doesn’t break while rolling
Step 13: Place 2 full spoons of apples one end of the tortilla
Step 14: Fold the two sides of the tortilla over the apples
Step 15: Hold the end where apples are placed and carefully roll tucking in the sides as much possible and roll tight
Step 16: Repeat for rest of the tortilla
Step 17: Grease a pan with butter
Step 18: Place the rolled tortillas on baked tray
Step 19: Pour the sauce generously over the tortillas
Step 20: Let the tortillas sit for about 15 minutes
Step 21: Pre heat oven at 180 degree centigrade
Step 22: Now bake for 20 minutes or until tortillas turn golden brown
Step 23: Remove from oven and transfer to serving plates
Step 24: Top with chopped walnuts and scoop of vanilla ice cream
Step 25: Serve immediately
Step 26: Serve Apple Enchilada after your meal as a dessert or as a tea time snack after with a hot cup of coffee
