Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making the Andhra Style Palakura Pappu, add Arhar dal/toor dal into a pressure cooker with 2 cups water and pressure cook for about 3 whistles
Step 2: Switch off the heat and allow it release the pressure by itself
Step 3: Once the pressure is released, open the lid and give it a stir
Step 4: Place the pressure cooker on low heat and add the tamarind water
Step 5: In the meanwhile, heat a small kadai with 1 teaspoon oil
Step 6: Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and allow it splutter
Step 7: Add curry leaves and leave it to crackle
Step 8: Next add dry red chilies and garlic, saute for few seconds and turn off the flame
Step 9: Pour this tempering over the Palakura Pappu and stir well
Step 10: Serve Andhra Style Palakura Pappu with Phulka or hot steamed rice with a dollop of ghee over it, and Aloo Bhindi Ki Sabzi Recipe to enjoy your lunch
