Cooking Steps
Step 1: To make Amritsari dry dal recipe, first wash the urad dal 3 to 4 times and soak it in water for 30 minutes
Step 2: Now heat oil in a pan
Step 3: Add celery, cumin, asafoetida and cook till the cumin seeds crackle
Step 4: Now add green chili, garlic, onion, salt and cook till the onion becomes soft
Step 5: After the onion becomes soft, add tomato, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and cook till the tomato becomes soft
Step 6: Now add urad dal and some water
Step 7: Cover the pan and cook till the lentils are cooked
Step 8: Add a little water as it is a dry pulse
Step 9: Turn off the gas, garnish with green coriander and serve
Step 10: Serve the Amritsari Dry Dal Recipe with Tawa Paratha and Bundi Raita for dinner
