Preparation
Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, salt. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth and soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Prepare the Filling:
-Boil the green peas until soft. Drain water and mash them lightly.
- Mash the boiled potatoes and green peas together in a bowl.
- Add green chili, grated ginger, garam masala, red chili, coriander, cumin powder, salt, & coriander leaves. Mix well to form a homogeneous filling.
Cooking Steps
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into smooth balls.
Take one dough ball and roll it out into a small circle.
Place 2-3 tablespoons of the aloo- matar (potato-pea) filling in the center.
Bring the edges of the dough together, seal tightly, and flatten slightly.
Roll the stuffed dough gently into a paratha (around 6-7 inches in diameter). Be careful not to tear it.
Heat a skillet or tawa over medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on the skillet.
Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles appear, then flip. Apply oil on both sides and cook until golden brown spots appear.
Serve it.
